Be well,Dr Maura McGill
Hi, I’m Dr. Maura McGill and I’m an expert in nature hormone treatments.
Today, I want to answer your questions about the use of HRT cream. If I could tell you that all of your menopause symptoms can be fixed by applying a simple skin cream, you might call me mad, but if you have a hormone imbalance, rebalancing the missing hormones with natural hormones in cream is the easiest and probably the most common way to use natural hormones. It will fix your hormone imbalance pretty quickly. However, the use of the creams is subject to being used properly.
The dose of the cream, the amount of milligrams of each hormone that you want in the cream is laid out by your doctor specifically on the prescription so that the 1 gram measure that he prescribes for you or that I prescribe for you is where you will get the entire dose. If you are using cream, you need to be aware that it only works down the front or insides of your limbs. It will not work on the back, the shoulders, or the outside skin because it is simply too thick to absorb the cream easily, and you must put it on a fairly wide area of skin. This little tiny application of a skin area won’t work. The more cells of skin that you cover, the more you will absorb and the more effective your treatment is, so you need to move it from place to place on a daily basis.
Now, there is a little system that will help you to remember: First of all, you can use your face and your neck down to your collarbone, and that will give you enough skin for one day. Then, you can use the whole of your chest the next day. When you use your arms, it should be all the way from the wrist to the armpit of the inside, not on the outside, which tends to be a bit thicker. On the next day, there. The next day, on your belly for Friday, and on the inside of one thigh and then the other thigh, and that gives you seven days. So how on earth are you expected to remember this? Well I grew up a little Irish Catholic, which won’t surprise you with my name, and I remember it like this:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and then Friday, Saturday, and Sunday just follow.
I know that a lot of you will understand the 1, 2, 3, 4 as being your memory prompt for the use of the cream. As long as you remember to cover the right amount of skin, a different amount of skin each day, and keep it in the front of your body where the skin is relatively thinner, you will have no more dreadful menopause symptoms. This is a very over-simplified version of course of a very scientific and sophisticated science, but it works in 93% to 95% of cases that I see.
Be Well,
Dr Maura
